I subscribe to several RSS feeds from Dave Gurteen.  I have also been receiving Dave's monthly e-mail newsletter for several years and there is no doubt that he has a wealth of interesting materials on many subjects, which engage those, like me, who see themselves as humble "knowledge workers" in a variety of different ways.  As I start out on my own journey through the Blogosphere with my first ever Blog, I wanted to mark out a line in the stand representing the great list of knowledge worker attributes, which Dave published on 2 October 2006 headed "What makes an effective knowledge worker?"

I have found this list to be an extremely good reference point on a number of occasions, particularly when preparing for meetings where one has to give several persuasive examples of how one can make a difference to a client’s organisation.  The list also has a much broader application in providing a balanced scorecard of skills, in each of which all of us, regardless of role and organisation, aspire to achieve a good mark.
